NCA FUTSAL SUPER LEAGUE: ROUND 2 REVIEW
The second round of the NCA Futsal Super League took place in Birmingham and Swindon on Wednesday 18th November, with teams starting to settle into what is currently the UK’s only official post-16 Futsal games programme for Colleges & Academies. The NCA Futsal Super League is delivered by @Futsal Group in partnership with the English Colleges FA and AoC Sport.
CHRISTMAS CRACKERS JUNIOR FOOTBALL TOURNAMENTS RETURN FOR 2015
For years, our Christmas Crackers tournaments have been legendary at our core @Futsal arenas. They invite local junior football clubs from across the age groups to enter teams, with free Christmas goody bags for every player as well as - most importantly - festive Futsal fun.
This year sees the Christmas Crackers tournaments expand, with an event specifically targeting schools and academies at the start of December, and a separate events for football clubs closer to Christmas day. Schools, academies and clubs are all welcome to enter more than one team, and the tournament is available for both boys and girls teams.

NCA FUTSAL SUPER LEAGUE: GAMES ONLY PROGRAMME & FREE LAUNCH FESTIVAL
The maiden season of the National Colleges & Academies (NCA) Futsal Super League is just around the corner, and there’s still an opportunity for teams to enter onto the games only programme. This is the UK’s only official Colleges and Academies Futsal games programme.
NCA Futsal Super League match-days will take place in Birmingham, Leeds, Oldham and Swindon on the following Wednesdays: 14th October, 18th November, 9th December, 13th January, 10th February and 23rd March. The leading sides from each regional division qualify for the national Grand Finals in Birmingham on 20th April. There’s also a free launch event for any teams interested in joining the league, which takes place in Birmingham on Wednesday 23rd September.
Teams must have confirmed their attendance for the launch festival by 5pm on Friday 18th September, and can do so by emailing [email protected]. The one-off fee for the full NCA Futsal Super League season is £500, inclusive of all costs.
LAST CHANCE SALOON FOR SWINDON COLLEGE FEMALE FUTSAL ACADEMY APPLICANTS
The final few places remain in the Swindon College Female Futsal Academy (SCFFA), which is blazing the trail for female football based education in the UK. Swindon College are one of a flourishing network of Colleges and Academies to partner with @Futsal Group and establish a Futsal Academy, which offers scholars the opportunity to gain BTEC qualifications whilst competing in a fully sanctioned national games programme.
The SCFFA is the first ever female only Futsal study programme.
Scholars that join the SCFAA will be taught on campus at Swindon College, whilst training and competing at Swindon @Futsal Arena, using a specially created state-of-the-art 21st century learning portal. The specialist Futsal training that they receive will prepare them for match-days in the first ever season of the National Colleges & Academies (NCA) Futsal Super League.

FINAL FEW PLACES FOR SWINDON’S FEMALE FUTSAL STUDENTS
A pioneering new sport and work-skills study programme is offering the chance for girls in Swindon to develop their skills academically, professionally and technically; by working towards a BTEC Sports qualification whilst playing in the NCA Futsal Super League. This is the first ever female-only Futsal study programme.
The NCA Futsal Programme sees @Futsal Group partnering up with Swindon College to introduce the Swindon College Female Futsal Academy (SCFFA), which offers BTEC qualifications combined with employability skills and careers advice. This is part of the next generation of study programmes incorporating the game of Futsal as an enrichment activity, and featuring the world’s first dedicated Futsal coaching syllabus.
Andrew Miller, principal at Swindon College said: “To have such great facilities and a national venue right on our doorstep is a real plus for Swindon and the College. We’re also honoured to be creating the first ever female-only Futsal programme - it’s a real coup!”
READING FOOTBALL CLUB LAUNCH FUTSAL ACADEMY AT MADEJSKI
Reading Football Club are paving the way for the next generation of sports professionals with the launch of their Futsal Academy. Potential scholars have the chance to learn and train at Madejski Stadium as they work towards gaining a national BTEC sports qualification, whilst competing in the Futsal National Development League (NDL).
Lee Herron, Assistant Academy Manager & Professional Development Coach at Reading FC, commented: “We’re really excited to establish a Futsal Academy here at Madejski and are looking forward to seeing the scholars progress through the ranks. In working with @Futsal Group in the past, we’ve seen a number of talented individuals flourish both on and off the pitch, and are confident that having an Academy here in Reading will only increase that.
The Futsal National Development League is a fantastic opportunity to compete against other clubs around the country, and I’m sure the scholars will wear the Royals’ badge with pride!”
The Futsal NDL programme sees professional football clubs around the country partnering with @Futsal Group in order to deliver their Futsal BTEC qualification, whilst competing in an officially sanctioned national games programme. The qualification is the equivalent of 3 A-Levels, and is combined with employability skills and careers advice. These are the next generation of study programmes incorporating the game of Futsal as an enrichment activity, and feature the world’s first dedicated Futsal coaching syllabus.
OXFORD CITY LAUNCH NEW FUTSAL ACADEMY PROGRAMME
A new element of football-based education is on its way to Oxford, as City launch their Futsal Academy programme alongside their established hugely successful Football Partnership. Students aged 16-19 will now also have the opportunity to study towards a BTEC Level 3 Extended Diploma in Sport, whilst specialising in Futsal to develop the technical skills to harness their potential on the pitch.

Swindon College have partnered with @Futsal Group to launch the Swindon College Female Futsal Academy (SCFFA). This unique programme provides the opportunities for girls aged 11-18 to develop both academically in the classroom and practically on the pitch.
The partnership follows the launch of @Futsal Group’s trailblazing National Colleges & Academies (NCA) programme, which offers Colleges and Academies nationwide the chance to deliver @Futsal’s pioneering sport and work-skills study programme whilst also competing in the NCA Futsal Super League.
