Oldham Futsal Overview
This arena represents our hub in the North West of England and we are delighted to have developed this in partnership with Oldham College. The arena therefore provides a sports education facility for the college along with all of the features that you would expect in a standard Futsal arena. The facility includes 3 youth Futsal pitches and a FIFA regulation Futsal pitch for adult games. All of the pitches can be used for multi-spots including basketball, netball, handball, roller derby and many other sports. We have jointly created a cool urban environment where you will find music and video while you play, changing facilities, spectator areas, interactive zones, modern vending facilities and ample car parking along with other features. We provide a wide range of activities from themed leagues and tournaments through to kids clubs and community education courses. Because our arenas provide indoor facilities, then we can guarantee all year round availability. The arena is conveniently located in the centre of Oldham and is served by excellent public transport plus all major roads into Oldham. Entry into the arena is FREE.

ARENA BUZZ
Yesterday Oldham Futsal Arena hosted its first U16 Youth tournament and what a spectacle it was. I have to say that all the teams showcased real futsal, so much entertainment on display its difficult to express in words. Skillz FC and Runcorn Linnets A were the two teams that stood out from the rest in the group stages, both winning three games and tying one. Sala/Glossop U15 managed two wins and two draws to progress to the semi-final while Runcorn Linnets B put in a solid performance to reach the knockout stage as well. Hathershaw college U15's although didn't win a game played some good futsal but the age and experience difference was a major factor.
The semi-finals described by Peter Stevenson from Runcorn Linnets as "amazing high octane matches, very well competed that maintained futsal quality". The eventual winners Sala/Glossop U15 showed some serious character in their semi-final game against Skillz FC coming back from 2-0 down to draw 2-2 and win on penalties to reach the final. The Runcorn Linnets semi-final ended with the A team winning a comfortable 3-0 but don't take anything away from the Runcorn B team that played extremely well.
The finals was intense and emotions, a game full of entertainment with Sala/Glossop U15 dominating the initial stages of the game taking a 1-0 lead but with time running out the Runcorn Linnets equalized with a penalty shootout looming to decide our first U16 champion. Sala/Glossop U16 beat a very good Runcorn Linnets team in a sudden death shootout to claim top spot at Oldham Futsal Arena. ... See MoreSee Less
