Futsal Brasilia @Futsal Birmingham

In partnership with @Futsal and Birmingham Team United, Futsal Brasilia hosted the first of a series of National Youth Futsal Events on the 30th October. On the day we invited 16 teams to participate from across the country (Under 14s, 12s, 10s, and 8s) and all had a fantastic time and went home thoroughly exhausted! Luke Mulekezi, who lead the initiative said, "Youth Fustal is really beginning to find its feet in the UK and across the country there are quite a lot of really good youth fustal teams, playing fustal at a high standard. We wanted to bring those teams together on a regular basis and so have set up a series of monthly invitational youth futsal events." He went on to say, "The new Birmingham arena is fantastic because not only is the facility fantastic it is ideally located slap bang in the middle of the country which means we can attract lots of teams!"
There was certainly a lot of interest and a number of professional clubs have already expressed an interest in attending future events. "Kids will always be competitive, but the emphasis at our events is on developing speed, skill and the ability to improvise and be creative. If you ask the kids at the end of the games, most of them wont even be able to telll you the score! I believe that in addition to other forms of football, you players need the space and time to have fun."
